When I first read this statement, it hit me within like a brick wall. I had never thought it through so deeply as to come to the conclusion that my heart should be completely hidden in Christ. The only way that could be possible would be by focusing on Christ and Christ alone, giving up meaningless relationships, giving up popularity, friends, the attention of boys, and even giving up your own flirtatious ways. Girls are so focused on pleasing boys with their looks and dress, they want to be accepted by other girls, and they spend so much of their time looking in the mirror. But is there ever a day when a girl wakes up and looks within her own heart, at what really counts - such as where her relationship with Christ is, where her focus is, and how she can honour God most? Do we spend more time worrying about our outward appearance or worrying about our inward appearance? What's within us is what really counts. God is only concerned about the heart, not the hair, makeup, or dress. One day, God will bring along a godly man that will be intrigued by your love for Christ, His Word, and His church. He won't be drawn to your outward beauty, but rather, the beauty within your heart and your love for God and others.
My prayer is that God will bring along such a man whose focus is Christ, whose life is Christ, whose passion is Christ, and whose desire is to please and honor Christ. That is the kind of man a Christian woman should be drawn to. In our society, however, it's all about how good looking a man is, how tall he is, how tanned he his, how strong and muscular he is, never what's within his heart.
I urge you, as young woman reading this, to give God the pen and let Him write your love story, to let Him script it according to His plans and what He knows is best for you. God's love stories are so much more beautiful than we could ever imagine.
So stop chasing after selfish dreams. Give your all to Christ and allow Him to bring along the man whose heart will be so hidden in Christ that you will have to know Him personally as your Saviour as well in order to find him.

Past It All

Past the crystal streams whose waters shine
Past the bluebirds that sit atop
The branches that appear they could almost drop
Down to the dirt ground laden with leaves
Down to the paths that bend and weave
Past the animals that scurry to shelters
Past the clouds and the sun that swelters
Past the moon and the stars that live
Far above me and always give
The shining lights that sparkle at night
Warming the evening in sheer delight
Past it all I came to ponder
Of creation beyond the wild blue yonder

Matthew 22:37
This verse has always been a favourite of mine and a wonderful reminder of how much we should love our heavenly Father. Our love for Him will never compare to His love for us. He paid the price for our sins with His death on the cross and we have been set free!

We are more than willing to tell others that we are Christians, but we never go one step further as to take them to God's Word and live by His Word. We think that the Bible is the "religous book" that we open once a week on a Sunday morning at church. We read a couple verses that might impact us for the moment, but after a few hours, the impact is gone and you've forgotten what you read. I urge you to take God's Word seriously, read it every day and meditate on it, don't just scan the pages. We waste our time on things like facebook and texting friends. Take your facebook time and replace it with putting your face in the Book, the Bible. Take your texting time and replace it with reading the Text, the Bible. Instead of watching videos on Youtube, watch sermons on Youtube or something that is going to be spiritually beneficial to your relationship with Christ.
What are you willing to give up?

God keeps His promises. No matter what His promise may be, He will keep it - and it will be a "Yes" in Christ. Because of His faithfulness through Christ, our proper response should be "Amen", in order that we give Him glory. This should be the goal of all who believe - the further glory of God.

The Focus of our Prayer Life
"The focus of our prayer life should not be "God, this is what I want" but "God, what do You want of me?" In our goal to become like Christ, we should pray the way He prayed. In His moment of greatest trial, Jesus pleaded, "My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will" (Matthew 26:39). We don't often hear prayers that reflect this kind of submission and obedience, but we are called to follow Christ's example."
