Preparing for the Future

Recently, I have been listening to a number of sermons by Rick Holland on the topic of courtship, women being keepers of the home, and marriage. I think that women in this generation are failing desperately to fulfill their role as a wife, their role as a mother, and their role as keeper of the home. There are more women in the workforce now then there has ever been in all of history. The divorce rate is constantly increasing, including "professing" Christian couples, and families are no longer families.
Where are the women of today who are living out the Proverbs 31 woman and the Titus 2 woman? Where are the women who fulfill their roles as a wife, mother, and home keeper according to the Bible's standards? Where are the women who joyfully submit under their husband's leadership and God's authority? Our society only promotes self - our wants, our needs, our desires, our rights. What about the Lord's desires for us?
I have heard some young women say, "What could you do all day as a stay-at-home mom?" This shows us how much women of today know about their God given roles. A wife/mother has the highest calling as she has the most roles of anyone to take on as a homemaker. She is a helper to her husband and a teacher to her children. The roles of cooking, cleaning, organizing, teaching, disciplining, meal planning, shopping, and living a godly life are only a few of the many responsibilities of woman need to accomplish daily.
I want to be a woman like the woman described in Proverbs 31. Verse eleven says, "The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain. She does him good and not evil all the days of her life." That verse is my prayer of all women of every generation around the world. May that always been our desire.
