A Quick Summarization of my Weekend

Well, I don't know how you could ever spend your time more wisely than this. Eleven sermons in 4 days. All about Jesus. I don't think you can get better than this.
This past weekend, my family and I traveled down to Palm Springs, California to attend the Resolved Conference. To read more about what this conference is, visit at: www.resolved.org
Each year, a theme is chosen for the conference and this year, the theme was Jesus. Five amazing preachers came and proclaimed the Word of God to over 4,000 youth and their parents. Pastors John MacArthur, C.J. Mahaney, Al Mohler, Steve Lawson, and Rick Holland were present and preached from various passages in the Bible, showing us who Jesus Christ really is. I have never had a clearer picture of my Saviour than now and all the more I want to live my life for Him. Because words can't describe and tell everything, I decided to put on the recaps of each day from the Resolved website for you to see. God was indeed glorified!

Past It All

A gentle wind, a whistle is heard
As I approach the mountain, my heart is stirred.
Past the evergreens, oak, and pine
Past the crystal streams whose waters shine
Past the bluebirds that sit atop
The branches that appear they could almost drop
Down to the dirt ground laden with leaves
Down to the paths that bend and weave
Past the animals that scurry to shelters
Past the clouds and the sun that swelters
Past the moon and the stars that live
Far above me and always give
The shining lights that sparkle at night
Warming the evening in sheer delight
Past it all I came to ponder
Of creation beyond the wild blue yonder
My eyes scanned the heavens that stretch so high

A place known as heaven, the home of my Father

"For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels."

Most Christians would say they are not ashamed of Christ, but what about God's Word? We are more than willing to tell others that we are Christians, but we never go one step further as to take them to God's Word and live by His Word. We think that the Bible is the "religous book" that we open once a week on a Sunday morning at church. We read a couple verses that might impact us for the moment, but after a few hours, the impact is gone and you've forgotten what you read. I urge you to take God's Word seriously, read it every day and meditate on it, don't just scan the pages. We waste our time on things like facebook and texting friends. Take your facebook time and replace it with putting your face in the Book, the Bible. Take your texting time and replace it with reading the Text, the Bible. Instead of watching videos on Youtube, watch sermons on Youtube or something that is going to be spiritually beneficial to your relationship with Christ.

So that we may boldly say, The Lord [is] my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me. (Hebrews 13:6)

Our Lord is mighty beyond imagining. His power and strength are above measure. None may stand against the weight of His arm. And He will protect us, His people, to everlasting. Having been made His children, we who believe live under His defence as long as there exist enemies to His throne. Rejoice in the fact of your salvation, O believer, for your redemption is to life eternal and unshakeable! The darts of the enemy may be of deadly flame, yet they shall never pierce His people! We rest under the banner of the King and sit in the shade of His mighty shield! Take heart in the strength of our Lord and give no fearful recognition to the weak boasting of the world's powers.

And our hope of you [is] stedfast, knowing, that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so [shall ye be] also of the consolation. (2 Corinthians 1:7)

Christ reigns even now on His heavenly throne, yet the earth is filled with evil men. The adopted brothers and sisters of Christ reign even now by His side, yet their lives are of suffering. How can this be? It is the mystery of the cross of Christ Jesus! Through our weakness, we are strong. Through death, we have life. Through suffering, we are become the victors. And through persecution, we are blessed. Therefore, Christ tells us, rejoice in such troubles till the heavenly consummation, for great will be our apparent reward in that day. So do not fret, O believer, but trust that your suffering will produce hope. Hope in Christ. Hope in Heaven.

The Focus of our Prayer Life

"The focus of our prayer life should not be "God, this is what I want" but "God, what do You want of me?" In our goal to become like Christ, we should pray the way He prayed. In His moment of greatest trial, Jesus pleaded, "My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will" (Matthew 26:39). We don't often hear prayers that reflect this kind of submission and obedience, but we are called to follow Christ's example."
